A long scientific tradition is represented and continued by the presence of the Max-Delbr�ck-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in Berlin-Buch. In the MDC basic research in molecular biology and clinical research are combined to efficiantly apply recent medical advances to clinical medicine at the patients bedside immediately. For this reason the scientists collaborate closely with clinicians. Together they endeavor to develop new methods of diagnosis and treatment.
Six main interdisciplinary research areas all share a basis in molecular biology: medical genetics, gene therapy, cancer research, cardiovascular research, cell biology, neurobiology.
